Camping in the Canyon

Camping on the banks of beautiful Sugar Creek

 

 

 

The Canyon features primitive tent campsites on ten wooded acres that face a spectacular rock bluff that towers 150 feet above Sugar Creek. Sites for all sizes of groups are available with amenities that include picnic tables, fire-rings, air conditioned modern restrooms with showers and a camp store.

The Canyon is located across the creek from our livery and is bordered by Sugar Creek, Shades State Park and the historic Deer's Mill Covered Bridge, built in 1878 by J. J. Daniels.

    The camp season is May 19- October. Reservations are required for all October dates.
    Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day weekends require two night minumin.
    The Canyon offers a camp store featuring grocery items, ice, firewood, camp supplies, and souvenirs. The camp store also serves as the campground registration office. Check-in and check-out here!
    The Canyon campground does not have cellular phone service or Wifi. (must drive 1 mile for signal), so please plan accordingly.
    Pets are NOT allowed.

 

CAMPING RATES

*With Reservation:

Age 13 and over: $14.00 + tax per person per night.

Age 12 and under: $8.00 + tax per person per night.

*Reservations require payment in full and need to be made at least one day in advance of event. Reservations are not taken for a€?Saturday night onlya€? camping from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend.

Without Reservation:

Any age: $17.00 + tax per person per night.

Campground Policies

Rowdiness, loud, lewd, or disruptive behavior is not tolerated.
Possession of alcohol by persons under 21 is prohibited.
Removal of or damage to property of any kind is not allowed.
Trash from camp site, fire-ring, cabin, and walkout suite to be placed in provided dumpsters.?? Area should also be free of clothesline and cigarettes.
$100 additional cleaning charge may apply to the cabins if necessary.
Cabin furniture not to be used outside.
Cabin rental requires that all cooking takes place outside.
All dishes and kitchen utensils in the walkout suite must be washed and put away for the next guest.
Lost cabin key = $5
Vehicles allowed only in designated areas.
Camping only at designated camp sites.??
Moving tables and/or fire-rings form other camp sites is not allowed.
Quiet Hours: 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM
Check-Out: 12:00 Noon

Pop-Ups or RVs
Loud Music
Swimming
Fireworks

Firearms
After-Hours Check-In??
Cutting of trees and branches
Firewood from outside the Canyon Campground (due to Emerald Ash Borer disease)
Washing dishes in restroom sinks/showers.?? (Use outside faucet.)
Smoking in cabins, walkout suite, restrooms or camp store (Do not dispose of cigarettes on ground or in fire-ring.)

A signed Waiver is required before participating in any CCOC event.
